All the way to 2.5 weeks ago when I won at Pinteresting with these awesome pumpkin flower pots. Put away the DeLoreans folks – that was a short trip.
You can find the project that inspired me at: Pumpkin Candy Holder Revamp
I have a love hate relationship with Pinterest. I recently did my own version of spring cleaning and deleted pretty much everything I have pinned over the last 5 years. Thousands of pins that had gone nowhere – recipes I didn’t cook, work outs I didn’t try, clothes I never bought – and also a lot of random memes. Apparently I was super into “Rotten e-cards” in 2011/2012. But I digress. The point is that I started fresh. New boards. New pins. Lower expectations. (Lower expectations also seems to be my motto for my 30’s coincidentally). This fall I was determined to pin and then execute. Although I probably should have read up on how to care for Mums because my gardeners seem to be clueless….
After the Mums came the Raised Garden Bed I touched on last week. And today I did a brave brave thing (closely related and often mistaken for a “stupid stupid” thing). I tackled the craft store with a 2 and 4 year old. What would have been a quick trip to the store 4 years ago now was an hour+ of me negotiating (I’ll give you a fruit snack if you just stop talking about being thirsty), begging (seriously guys, can we just walk straight?), threatening (If we have to leave this store there will be no crafts at all!) and apologizing (Sorry! They are tired/hungry/thirsty/the spawn of satan).
We walked out of the store with yarn, popsicle sticks, glue, googly eyes, felt, a hole punch and twine. My kiddo craft arsenal. And with a few things from home we managed to knock off TWO yes TWO entire pinterest activities. I give you Cotton Ball Ghosts (in progress)
And Spider Hat! (extra glue and hold the stapled please)
Both Projects Inspired by Halloween Kids Crafts
It’s important to note that I am not THAT mom. You know what I’m talking about. Let’s just put it this way – there are moms that dream of homeschooling and there are moms that dream of day drinking. I kid I kid (sort of… no really :::wink wink:::) but the reality is that I have to make the effort to do these activities because they are not my preferred way to spend the day. But check out that happy mug in the spider hat 😉
Yep. Worth it.

This is partly why I encourage/force my sister in law to visit. She has the teacher gene. I honestly hate even carving a pumpkin. I’m that bad. Kudos to you!
